Lesson 2

In this lesson, children will learn to translate shapes on a grid and to describe translations. They will also learn that it can be helpful to focus on one vertex at a time when translating more complicated shapes.  They will develop an understanding that the shape itself does not change size nor orientation when translated. There is a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions.
