Lesson 8

In this lesson, children will subtract decimals with different numbers of decimal places.  As in the addition lesson the focus is again on the importance of lining up the decimal point in order to ensure correct place value.  In this subtraction lesson the importance of zero as a place holder is shown. There is a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions.
