Lesson 5

In this lesson, children will add together numbers greater than one with the same number of decimal places. The column method of addition is used and, for greater understanding of place value and exchange, place value charts and counters are shown throughout.  There is a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions.
