Lesson 9

In this lesson, children will add decimal numbers to and subtract decimal numbers from whole numbers.  Place value grids are used to show how integers line up with decimal numbers. This lesson reinforces that the decimal point is to the right of the ones place. There is a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions.
