Lesson 5
In this lesson, children extend their knowledge from working out the area of a right-angled triangle to working out the area of any triangle. They still use the same formula to do this. They will also use this to work out the shape of composite shapes made up by more than one triangle. This resource teaches the students to use the formula for the area of a rectangle to find the area of a right-angled triangle. There is a teaching presentation and three levels of worksheets (working towards, expected and greater depth) with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem solving questions.
